Being the daughter of a crop duster and growing up on the family ranch, Lyla was born into agriculture. Spending the summers in potato fields and hauling hay, she quickly realized how much she enjoyed agriculture.

After graduating from Monte Vista High School, Lyla attended Adams State College and earned a degree in business administration and marketing. She obtained a MBA in 2021 from Adams State University.

After college, she tried her hand at various ag-related jobs such as driving potato trucks at harvest and banking. Trying to find a career that would keep her involved in agriculture and still have time to raise a family, Lyla started a small bookkeeping and secretarial service geared toward the local farming community. “I’m happy to work with such a great group of people.” Notes & Numbers, LLC offers a wide range of business services for the local farming and ranching community including payroll, bookkeeping, marketing and some accounting services.

Nikita is a native to the San Luis Valley; growing up on her family’s farm gave her an understanding of agriculture’s ups and downs.  As she starts her career as an agribusiness professional; she is excited and ready to take on the challenges of the industry.

Nikita had a unique college experience, attending four universities in four years.  Nikita received a diverse education attending Adams State University, Cal Poly, Lincoln University in New Zealand and graduating with a degree in Agribusiness from Colorado State University.  Each school allowed Nikita to focus on different interest areas including accounting/marketing, food production, economics and water law.

After finishing her degree in Agribusiness she decided to start her career in the beautiful San Luis Valley.  Notes and Numbers, LLC seemed like a perfect fit for Nikita because of the diverse set of clients and services the company provides.  Nikita enjoys being able to work on day to day bookkeeping as well as promotional and outreach opportunities.
